Active Living Every Day is being offered free of charge
in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia
by the Active for Life Center of the National Capital Region
through a grant to the Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater
Washington (JCA). “Course participation is multi-cultural
and non-denominational,” states Sharlene P. Hirsch,
EdD, the Active for Life Center’s director. More than
800 midlife and older adults have already enrolled in the
course. Participants receive free tuition; a copy of the
textbook, Active Living Every Day; an imprinted program
notebook for weekly handouts; and an Active for Life imprinted
step counter.
JCA serves as managing partner of an interstate, multi-agency
