Active
for Life has been established to learn how
to deliver research-based physical activity programs to
large numbers of mid-life and older adults and to sustain
such programs through existing community institutions. This
Web site is sponsored by the Active for Life National
Program Office which operates out of The Texas A&M Health
Science Center School of Rural Public Health. Funding for
the program comes from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
(RWJF).
The School of Rural Public Health (SRPH)
at The Texas A&M Health Science
Center is focused on improving the health of communities,
with emphasis on rural and under-served populations, through
education, research, service, outreach and creative partnerships.
The Active for Life program
also includes a Social Marketing component being undertaken
by AARP and an independent evaluation by the University of
South Carolina, with funding from the RWJF. |
